“The Wing” apartment is part of the historical “Lotterenghi della Stufa Palace. Centrally located in Lorenzo il Magnifico’s Florence, the palace is only a few steps from the renown Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square) where it offers breathtaking views of the Church and of Piazza San Lorenzo. The apartment’s charm and unique character make it an ideal setting for a stay in Florence.
It can be easily reached on foot (10 minutes) from the Central Railway Station of Santa Maria Novella. Also within walking distance are the main museums and monuments as well as the famed Florentine shops, the small handicrafts shops, the characteristic “trattorie”, and the famous San Lorenzo market with its typical and varied products.
The apartment (approx. 100 sq.mt.) is on the second floor, with elevator.
It was completely refurbished in 2010. In keeping with the owner’s intentions and the prescribed laws meant to protect the palace’s historical value, the structure and original decorations have been entirely preserved.
Nonetheless, the bathrooms and kitchen, as well as the electrical wiring and the plumbing, have been totally renovated, and now provide all the comforts of modern life.
“The Wing’s” drawing-room and the bedroom windows afford a splendid view of the Square and the Church of San Lorenzo as well as a bird’s eye view of the top of the “Cupolone” and Giotto’s bell-tower. Large windows as well as the absence of any other nearby buildings provide a great deal of light in the rooms while the apartment’s location in a strictly quiet and pedestrian area offers peace and tranquility.
